How much does a website cost in Phnom Penh in 2026?

Real published prices, the one-year comparison most people skip, and the questions to ask before you pay anyone, me included.

Guide · Updated 7 October 2026 · 6 min read

Short answer: in Phnom Penh, a small business website costs from about $300 to $1,500 to build, plus a monthly fee for hosting, updates and changes. The monthly fee is where the real difference hides, so always compare the cost over a full year.

Who builds websites in Phnom Penh

You will meet three kinds of providers:

  • Freelancers, often found on Facebook groups or freelance platforms. Cheapest upfront, but quality and follow-up vary a lot. Ask who will fix the site in a year.
  • Agencies. TechBehemoths lists 11 web design companies in Phnom Penh. They publish packages and usually charge a monthly maintenance fee.
  • Small studios like Atelier Penh: one designer, fixed packages, the same person from first sketch to updates.

Real published prices

Few providers in Phnom Penh publish their prices. Here are two that do, mine included, as listed on 7 October 2026.

Cambo Digital announces 1 to 2 weeks for simple websites and 3 to 4 weeks for business websites. My packages go online in 3, 7 or 14 days once I have your photos and texts.

Compare the cost over one year

A low setup price with a high monthly fee can cost more than the opposite. Take two sites of similar size:

  • Cambo Digital Gold: $950 + 12 × $195 = $3,290 in the first year.
  • Atelier Penh Premium: $890 + 12 × $49 = $1,478 in the first year.

The two are not identical products: compare what the monthly fee actually covers. But do the multiplication every time.

Costs people forget

  • Domain renewal. Who owns the domain? It should be registered in your name or transferable to you.
  • Changes. New menu, new prices, new photos. Are they included, limited, or billed by the hour?
  • Languages. A second language is often billed as extra work.
  • Photos. A site is only as good as its pictures. Budget a shoot if your photos are poor.
  • Booking tools. Some platforms take a commission per booking. A simple WhatsApp or Telegram request costs nothing per booking (see our guide on WhatsApp bookings).

Seven questions to ask before you pay

  1. Can I see a preview of my own site before I pay?
  2. Who owns the domain and the content?
  3. What exactly does the monthly fee include?
  4. How many changes per month are included?
  5. How fast does the site load on a phone with 4G?
  6. Who do I message when something breaks, and how fast do they answer?
  7. What happens if I stop paying the monthly fee?

For the record, my answers: yes, a free preview first; the domain is yours; hosting, SSL, security and a set number of changes are included; and if you stop, I hand over your files.
